Wow. This seems so unreal to me. Steve has done so many great things for wildlife in general. He is such an amazing handler....he will realy be missed.

I just hate it. Although his incredible enthusiasm always got me tickled and he was SO overboard in all his media appearances that i would jokingly make fun of him[CRACKERS!!!!], i just loved the guy....
We need ALL the conservation minded people in the world we can get and we sure don't need to lose someone as caring about our critter friends as he was.
My condolences to all who loved him and he'll be sorely missed by this MotherEarth of ours...
Most of all...Steve Irwin, Rest In Peace, friend, and thank you for what you did for us, our Earth and Her Critters.

Monday was probably the worst day of my entire life. Finding out Steve Irwin died was very devastating to me. I really love him like most of you know. I know that if I didn't watch his shows I would not have as many snakes as I do now in my basement. My goal in life was to do and be exactly as he has done.
He was such an inspirational figure for me. If I had never watched his shows I would probably never gotten into venomous snakes. I loved snakes as a kid but then got out of the when I was around 7. Then I tore my ACL in an accident and ended up watching Croc week on Animal Planet for a whole week. I immediately went back into snakes and bought all the books and join this society back in 2002. I read everything and anything I could get my hands on about keeping venomous snakes. He was my idol as most people could tell by the clothes I wore. I really was hoping to me him eventually.
I cried when I found out he died. I felt like I knew him personally and my mother and I felt like he was a family member. I hope that his family is ok after this horrid disaster. I am glad though he died doing what he loved to do compare to dieing in a car wreck or something in that sense. He was given so much to this world and sadly he could not return as much as he gave.
I loved watching his shows and I am probably one if not his biggest fan. I have seen anything and everything he has done. I still remember when I first saw him on television. It was New Year’s Eve and discovery channel was doing a night full of snake shows. I remember it was the 10 Deadliest Snakes in the world. The thing I still remember from that show was when got licked by the Fierce Snake aka Inland Taipan the worlds most toxic land snake. After that night I loved him. I have seen ever show he has done thousands of times. I still love the Rattlesnake episode and the episodes done at Eglin Airforce Base in Florida. I am still very sickened at his lost. He did more for conservation than any of us could ever amount to. He will always be in my heart and I will never forget what he gave me.
I hope Terri, Bindi, Bob, and the rest of the Irwin family do ok and everything works out. I really hope they know how many people will forever miss the Crocodile Hunter.

R.I.P. Steve Irwin. You will truly be missed. I had made it my life long goal to go to Australia and work for Steve because I loved his work and I respected him as a person. Now that he is gone I will continue his love of wildlife and his work on wildlife conservation.

Steve did what most of us will never be able to do, he died doing exactly what he loved to do. Up to the very moment of his last breath he was doing what he loved the most. My hats off to you Steve, the world will forever be a colder place with you. We need more ambassadors of nature like him to step up to the plate now and try to fill the shoes of a giant. I know that it is not possible, but if we do not do something the natural world will be what takes the tragic death. My heart is with the Irwin family and friends. Crocs Rule
