I’m not Catholic, but I think we should initiate the canonization process immediately! St. Steve Irwin, patron saint of reptiles!
He gave a voice to the very creatures that so many in the world loathe and fear and tried to show the world just how beautiful they really are.
Perhaps the ultimate compliment that one can receive to have it be said that “you have inspired!” Steve Irwin is an inspiration!

Without a doubt The one person who brought reptiles and amaising creatures closer to everyone! The enthusiasm and love he had for animals was apsolutely amaising and contagious and the world would be a much better place if there were more Steve Irwin.

well, that's horrible to hear that steve has passed, i truly
feel for his wife and kids, but in a way, i'm happy, he took
my dream job, now i have a chance to fill his void. i know
that i will never be remembered like he was, but hopefully
i can make an impact on someones life. everyone here
has watched his shows and i know that everyone here has
been touched by steve, the world is just not the same
without the "crazy white guy that pokes gators with a
stick" as many of my friends refer to him.
as steve once said: "all i have to do is make one mistake
and everyone will say 'we knew it crocididdy!" i think he
went out happy, with the animals.

Steve was a great man. He taught millions of people and changed the views of those millions. He taught us as he was entertaining us. I have watched him ever since his shows and documenteraries came out. I learned a lot of what I know from him and he is one of the reasons I got into reptiles. I don't think there is anyone else that can do what he has done. He died happy and that is what matters. He once said that he wanted the cameras rolling at all time, even if he died and if his death wasn't on camera he would be sad. God bless him, his family and everyone touched by his death. The world will miss and for ever remember the Croc Hunter. SHOW THE LORD HOW TO CATCH A CROC STEVE

I grew up watching Steve; he impacted my life, and was one of the large factors that led me to keeping the unique animals I do. Steve was an inspiration to us all. He lived the life that we all dream to live, and his conservation and education efforts were nothing short of astonishing. I’ve never seen anyone with such zest and complete and total love of life and what he did with his life. Although many will imitate him, there will never, ever, be another person quite the same as Steve. I feel that Chris Harper said it best, “The world is an emptier place without you.” My thoughts and prayers are with Steve’s family, Terri, Bindi, Bob, Bob Sr., Wes, and the Australia Zoo team.
The world has lost a great person, we’ll miss ya buddy,

Not trying to be a redundant poster, here (or an overly redundant one, anyway). Yesterday was utter shock and numbness. Today is a fresh measure of pain for the loss to those of us who remain.
My heart goes out to Terri, Bindi, and Bob. As well as Bob Irwin (sr) who has outlived not only his wife, but his only son, something no parent should ever have to go through.
My heart goes out as well to the extended family at Australia zoo, and especially to Wes Mannion who is Steve's chosen brother. I know Wes' state of mind must be beyond the description of words right now.
My Respects and Deepest sympathies.

Steve was an inspiration to all of us. I have watched him since day 1 and after all other false reports of him dying or being severly injured i first heard through email and didnt believe it until i watched the news. The herpetological world has lost one of its greats. Steve will be missed. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
